About Me
As a little girl, we always have dreams of becoming something. How many of us was asked what is it that we want to be when we get older? How many of us drew pictures of an average American career such as a doctor, a lawyer or even a teacher and actually drew a picture of what we hope to be? or as far as our imagination took us? I m sure there are many of us that had an idea. When I was a little girl I wanted to be an entertainer whether it be dancing or singing at the young of 5 years old I would perform by singing and dancing in the hallways of buildings with my all girl groups, at block parties and even on competition stages. Then at the tender age of 14 years old I realized that maybe I didn’t have a chance in singing as I was not a Monica or a Brandy lol. However, dancing for me became a hobby and not so much a “what I want to be when I grow up”.
As a native from Harlem, New York City, I am jaded, sharp as a tac, swift with the tongue, a mover, a shaker, a thinker, an observer, a conquerer, a dreamer, and a visionary, but most of all a fashionista. I hold many talents as I have learned that it is okay to shift in your dreams and pursuits but always keep your dreams alive. I pursued a Bachelors degree in Business Administration at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina where I learned how to network amongst my peers and elders, how to write an APA style paper, how to be business savy. And most of all, I have learned how to believe in myself as success starts within you. As creator of fashion shows at my college and for other organizations, and boutiques I have realized that what I wanted to be was staring me in my face all along. There I was scouting stores for clothing pieces for models to wear, always knitting pieces together and starting new trends. I thought to myself could this be what I always wanted to be when I grow up, could this be the reason that I was placed on earth.?
As a young women and men we may not know what it is that we want to do in life and it may take years to figure it out. However, keep your dreams alive and stick to what you know best.
